Junior Achievement of South Central Kentucky is Hiring a Special Events Coordinator Near Bowling Green, KY

Title: Special Events Coordinator

Status: Part-time, non-exempt

Hours: M-F, Hybrid

Pay Rate: $18-20/hour

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Special Events Coordinator reports to the JA President. This is a part-time hourly position that requires periodic evening and weekend work. This role assists with the planning and implementing development-focused initiatives aimed at raising funds, expanding awareness, engaging the public, attracting new audiences, overall organizational marketing, and increasing overall profit contribution throughout the organization. Overall, the Special Events Coordinator plays a crucial role in raising funds and generating support for a cause or organization through well-planned and executed events.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

· Event Planning: Developing and implementing a comprehensive event plan, including setting goals, budgeting, and timeline management

· Fundraising Strategies: Creating effective strategies to maximize revenue generation and meet fundraising goals through events

· Sponsorship and Donor Management: Identifying and securing sponsors and donors to support the event and build long-term relationships with key stakeholders

· Event Coordination: Overseeing all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, ticketing, volunteer coordination, and marketing/promotion

· Leadership: Managing a team of volunteers or staff members to ensure smooth event operations and successful fundraising outcomes

· Donor Cultivation: Building relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and supporters to engage them in the organization's mission and secure ongoing support

· Budgeting and Financial Management: Creating and managing event budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring financial accountability

· Post-Event Evaluation: Analyzing the success of the event, generating reports, and identifying areas for improvement to enhance future fundraising efforts

· Marketing: Keep up to date with all marketing needs of the organization, including all event promotion, social media channel management, and all other PR needs of the organization

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Passion for Junior Achievement and its mission
  • Minimum of two years of experience in marketing, PR, event planning, nonprofit, development, or related field
  • Experience working with platforms such as Canva, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Proficiency with various social media platforms
  • Must be able to work independently and under pressure, managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent people skills, collaborative and relationship-building approach with internal and external partners
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills and experience in corresponding with high-profile donors
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with strong prioritization instincts
  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs. (boxes, kits, event supplies, etc.)
