Our divisions include iteach, Teaching Channel, Insight Education Group and Lavinia Group.

This is a part time role with an average of 15 hours per week, subject to seasonal highs and lows. Hourly range for this role is between $22-26 per hour.

Location: Hybrid out of the Eagan, MN office.

The Opportunity

The HR Operations Associate will play a critical role in supporting the human resources team by managing multi-state, bi-weekly payroll, including off-cycle payments, and handling data entry for benefits and open enrollment. They will update BambooHR records, ensure I-9 compliance, and respond to employee inquiries about payroll, benefits, and company policies. Additionally, they will support the transition from BambooHR to UKG, assist in talent acquisition during hiring surges, generate reports, and perform other HR and administrative duties. This role reports to the Human Resources Manager.

What You’ll Do

HR Operations 

  • Uses payroll software, inputs payroll data, and prepares payroll processing for approximately 450 employees. Processes off cycle payments such as bonuses and commissions. 
  • Updates BambooHR employee records, reviews I-9s for compliance, and enters employee changes into reports as needed.
  • Answers employee questions (via Help Desk tickets) related to payroll, benefits, 401k and company policy/practices. 
  • Helps to ensure payroll practices meet compliance standards. 
  • HRIS implementation support - transitioning from BambooHR to UKG.

HR Generalist 

  • Supports the HR team with projects. 
  • Talent acquisition support during hiring surges - completing reference checks and phone screenings.
  • Reporting 
    • Responds to questionnaires and verification of earnings requests.
    • Generates reports as requested by the HR team and the business.
  • Other HR, payroll, and administrative duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of human resources generalist experience; including at least 1 year of experience with payroll
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Experience with data, analytics and reporting
  • Experience with an HRIS implementation
  • Experience with UKG preferred
  • Certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus
  • Associates degree preferred
