Job DescriptionSCOPE Perform operations and maintenance duties relating to cell assembly and salt pile activities. Duties And ResponsibilitiesCell Assembly
Ship, receive and monitor cell parts and assembly process
Inspect inlet and outlet hoses, inlet and outlet distribution pipes, distance strips, frame gaskets, assembly bolts and Anode and Cathode half shells for damage or imperfections such as burrs, splinters, twists, bends or misalignments
Inspect, prep (sanding, wire wheel buffing, filing) and paint (aerosol paint and respirator) Frame Bars by ensuring no bent or sharp edges and shims are in place
Ensure all materials are labeled and stored correctly and waste is handled correctly per company requirements
Adhere to all housekeeping requirements including cleanliness of floors and equipment
Inspect all safety/work equipment daily including PPE, ladders, boot and gloves
Use inspection sheets to ensure lift equipment and cranes are in proper working order
Salt Pile
Escort contractors and government officials in and out of facility as required
Responsible for monitoring the log book in the security office and ensure it is up to date and accurate
Communicate any unusual events such as near misses, safety concerns or stoppage of offload activities to the maintenance manager and operations
Takes samples of salt from ship holds and ensures the bottles are correctly identified with the date and time the sample was taken and the hold and position in the hold from which the sample was taken.
Communicates with the ship's offload crew as to the operation of the conveyor
Works all positions on the conveyor as salt is being offloaded by:
Monitoring and checking the overflows and head sections at the interface of conveyors 8 and 9 and conveyor 9 and the telestacker
Ensuring the plastic covers are taped tightly to the sides of the conveyor interfaces and reapplies the tape as required
Checking the fuel level in the light plants, starting the light plants at dusk and turning them off at dawn
Works on the set up of the conveyors prior to offload of salt and is responsible for installing plastic on sides of conveyor interfaces between conveyors 3 and 4, and 5 and 6 and the dock side hoppers are set up. Checks all equipment for proper operation.
Works on the cleanup crew after the salt offload by removing all the plastic covers from the conveyor interface points, cleaning the dock and hopper area and cleaning salt from the conveyors and tele stacker. Dismantles the conveyor system at the dock and from the road way area. Dismantles the rented power equipment and prepares it for return to supplier. Cleans the areas under the conveyor and any adjacent areas which may have had salt deposited including the asphalt roadways.

Previous experience bolting flanges
Ability to work in a repetitive environment

Previous experience working with chemicals preferred
Familiarity with hand/power tools, overhead crane and forklift
Physical RequirementsMust be able to meet the requirements of the Physical Demands Assessment, such as:
Must be able to work at heights and in varying environments (hot/cold)
Must be able lift/push/pull up to 50lbs
Must be able to use various PPE including a respirator and chemical suit
