We are a Microschool specializing in neurodivergent children. We are looking for a Teacher Assistant to join our growing team. Our school is located in beautiful Orlando, FL. We are looking for an energetic, passionate, and engaging individual. The Teacher Assistant is responsible for supervising our children, writing observation reports, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. Most importantly, they have to love spending time with children!
This a full-time position with a schedule of 7:30am-3:30pm Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide quality care for children.
  • Support lead teacher in creating lesson plans for weekly activities that are developmentally appropriate for students' abilities.
  • Encourage student's creativity, singing, dancing, participating in activities, self-expression, and relationship building.
  • Aide gross and fine motor development based on student needs.
  • Demonstrate understanding of school philosophy, curriculum, and behavior management plan.
  • Provide a safe and engaging environment for all children according to licensing regulations.
  • Assist during snacks and lunches for students.
  • Support lead teacher on daily tasks & projects.
Requirements:
  • 1 year of professional child care experience with children with special needs
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification (preferred)
  • Must clear full background check and must pass a health screening
  • Available to complete required Professional Development and Certifications.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development and neurodiverse populations.
