Kaiser Permanente is Hiring an Executive Director, Ancillary Services - MAS Near Washington, DC

Description: Job Summary:
The ED, Ancillary Services, provides strategic and administrative guidance for market leadership, directors, managers, and staff delivering clinical support services, and promoting enrollment growth through targeted non-member services. The ED, Ancillary Services, will partner with the VP, Ambulatory Care & Clinical Services to provide strategic direction to clinician leaders (Health Plan and Medical Group) of lab, imaging, vision, rehabilitation, our regional staffing office and National Facility Services. Main areas of focus include financial management, clinical continuity, integration of care, clinical services and compliance/regulatory issues.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Creates and leads the implementation of the vision and strategic direction for designated clinical support including lab, imaging and optical services.
  • Defines and ensures the achievement of access, service, clinical quality and safety, staff engagement, practice efficiency and affordability goals aligned with the organizations vision and business plan.
  • Ensures all services are responsive to customer and organizational requirements by working in close collaboration with delivery system, medical staff and health plan leaders across the organization, securing their active support of and participation in the vision and goals.
  • Engages other Kaiser Permanente departments (e.g., Finance, Delivery System Business Services, Information Services) as needed.
  • Leads complex intra- and inter-divisional change management and improvement efforts associated with access, service, clinical quality and safety, staff engagement, practice efficiency and affordability goals.
  • As part of the leadership team, participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of new
  • models/methods of delivering care to members. Integrates work plans and produces seamless transition of care for members.
  • Assesses, develops, and strengthens the talent and customer-focus of managers and staff.
  • Align in-market operations with any enterprise strategies for lab, imaging, vision, rehab and our regional staffing office.
  • Partners with National Facility Services leadership, to support effective maintenance of our buildings and equipment, and ensure consistency of our branding within our facilities.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
  • Minimum ten (10) years' relevant experience in healthcare.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of senior management experience.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams through influence and collaboration.
  • Effective team building, conflict resolution, persuasive communication and presentation skills required. Strong communication, presentation, leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience analyzing medical expenses, staffing models and utilization and the ability to analyze complex functions, procedures, and problems to find creative, logical and effective solutions.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects and workstreams and utilize time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to build relationships through responsive, respectful communications and positive collaborations across many departments and organizational segments.
  • Ability to be a "change agent" and assist in behavioral transformation of staff (strategy, motivation, vision/mission development, consistency).
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required to participate in national meetings.
  • Significant knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations related to health care.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Certification in Lab, Radiology, Vision or Rehab preferred (e.g., Certified Lab (e.g., Medical Technologist Certificate OR Medical Lab Scientist Certificate) OR Imaging (e.g., Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certificate OR Radiologic Technologist Certification OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate OR Nuclear Medical Technologist Certificate) Certificate)
  • Experience in the Mid-Atlantic market preferred
