ESSENTIALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsibleforaircraftengineering,configurationcontrol,andobtainingmodificationandrepairdata.
• EnsurethatapproveddataisusedinthedevelopmentofEOsandEAsthatareusedforthemaintenance,repair, and modification of fleet aircraft and appliances.
• Obtainregulatoryapprovalwhenrequiredformodifications/repairsperformedonKalittaAiraircraftand components.
• Ensurethateachrepairandalterationisanalyzedtodeterminewhetheritismajororminorper14CFR requirements.
• EvaluateFederalRegulations,NoticesofProposedRulemaking,ADs,SBs,SLs,andothernotificationsofin- service issues to ensure that the Kalitta Air Maintenance Inspection Programs are revised as necessary.
• Ensurethatallnecessaryengineeringdocumentationrequiredtocompleteassignedprojectsisdevelopedwithin the allocated time schedule. Issue project status reports to show progress and compliance with the established timetable.
• InterfacewiththeStructures/SystemsEngineerManagertoassistindevelopingcorrectiveactionplansbasedon in service history defect data.
• CoordinatewithotherKalittaAirengineeringstafftoprovide24/7technicalsupporttoTechnicalServices,Ground Operations, Flight Operations, and other Kalitta Air personnel.
• Interfacewithmanufacturers,maintenancerepresentatives,MROfacilities,outsideengineeringdepartments, regulatory agencies, and other outside agencies.
• Provideliaisonengineeringfunctionswithmanufacturers,outsideoverhaulagencies,andengineeringagencies.
• InterfacewithFAADEREngineerswhenrequiredtosupportKalittaAirrepairsandmodifications.
• DevelopproductimprovementmodificationsasdirectedbyKalittaAirmanagement.
• Supportintegrationofrepairs/modificationsfornewandpreviouslyoperatedaircraft.

• Updatemanufacturer’smanualsanddocumentsasapplicabletoensureaccuracy.
• Participateinindustryworkinggroups,steeringcommittees,meetings,andconferencesasrequested.
• PerformotherdutiesasassignedbytheEngineeringManager.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum5years’experienceinairlineengineering(engineeringdegreepreferred),orequivalentheavy maintenance experience (A&P License/FCC License/QC experience preferred).
• ExperienceinreadingandunderstandingAirworthinessDirectives(AD)andServiceBulletins(SB)todetermine:
  • Effectivitytothefleet(Group,Configuration,Condition)
  • Requiredactions&constraints.
  • Requiredmaterials(parts&tooling)
  • Requirednumberofpersons&skillset,taskhours,andaircraftgroundtimetoaccomplishtask
  • ApplicableSBWorkInstructions,Figures,&Tables
• Workingknowledgeoflargeaircraftsystemsandstructures(Boeing747-400,767-300andB777FSeries Aircraft).
• Workingknowledgeoflargeaircraftmanuals(i.e.AMM,IPC,SRM,MPD,CPCP,SSID,NDT,RAG).
• ComputerexperiencewithAdobe,AviationDataBases,MicrosoftWordandExcel.

LANGUAGE/COMMUNICATIONSKILLS

• Read,write,andunderstandEnglishlanguage.
• CreateandupdateroutinereportsandcorrespondenceinMicrosoftWord&Excelformats.
• Create logical/coherent/grammatical messages using Microsoft Outlook to communicate ideas, thoughts, and instructionswhichcanbeunderstoodbylargevariablegroups(i.e.,Operations,Maintenance,QC,Stores,etc.).

MATHEMATICALSKILLS

• Add,subtract,multiply,anddivideinallunitsofmeasure,usingwholenumbers,commonfractions,anddecimals.
