Kane County, Illinois is Hiring a Community Health Initiatives Coordinator- Family Engagement Specialist (Grant Funded Position) Near Aurora, IL

JOB
Elgin Location: The Community Health Initiatives Coordinator promotes individual and population health through health promotion and education initiatives and health behavior-change programs in a variety of settings for the diverse populations represented in Kane County. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and evaluating programs and public health initiatives, establishing, leading and maintaining community partnerships, and managing work plans and timelines. Work will involve multiple initiatives and projects at any given time and will change as the initiatives and projects evolve. The current major focus of this position is to increase meaningful parent and caregiver engagement in the AOK Early Childhood Network Collaboration so that system improvement efforts will be highly influenced by those using the system. Candidates should be passionate about improving outcomes for all children and families in Kane County.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a health or human service-related area including, but not limited to, public health, education, social work, psychology, early childhood.
  • Have experience working with diverse populations.
  • Be flexible, dynamic and engaging with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Possess strong communicators with skills in writing, facilitation and public speaking.
  • Experience with system-improvement work including community/stakeholder engagement, advocacy, and strategic planning/implementation.
  • Able to work with groups and independently with excellent time and task management.
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license, current certificate of vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation to all assigned work locations.
Preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Experience as Parent/Caregiver of Small Children in Kane County
Qualified applicants will be required to submit to a criminal background check.
