Kane Logistics is Hiring an Inventory Supervisor - Distribution Center Near Edgerton, KS

The Operations Inventory Supervisor is responsible for implementation and monitoring of compliance with operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current. The inventory Manager is also responsible for managing some hourly associates and temporary workers in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

An Inventory Supervisor, and/or Department Supervisor, is responsible for managing the workflow of their team or department by assigning tasks, supporting staff, monitoring results, and reporting to senior management. They contribute to the efficiency of their department by reviewing and improving processes and setting targets for their teams. A supervisor is also responsible for coaching, resolving issues and serving as a link between subordinates and upper management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily activities of a Inventory operation
  • Enact contingency plans as needed; escalate and direct activities during system problems, disasters, etc.; identify potential problems, troubleshoot, escalate issues to local and senior management, and participate in post-mortem analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements concerning the inventory department.
  • Review ongoing performance & KPI's results to targets. Take corrective measures with authorization, escalate as needed.
  • Responsible for providing effective leadership to the inventory team and enforcing company standards, act as a role model.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Manage group to Perform Daily Cycle counts for assigned locations directed by you or the customer.
  • Monitor & Control Inventory Integrity through Inbound and Outbound audits when required.
  • Ensure Inventory accuracy to meet all internal and external client demands and service level agreement.
  • Partner with IB/OB clericals to research inventory discrepancies in a timely manner including your team.
  • Report discrepancies and damage product to Operations Manager or General Manager for further resolution.
  • Maintain product identification and location accuracy within the facility.
  • Required to operate equipment within the facility.
  • Be open minded to ideas where they can be applied to enable innovation.
  • Manage the service Level agreement for your department.
    • Inventory Variances
    • Damage Product Manifesting
    • Cycle Count accuracy
    • FEFO on all product
    • Physical Inventory Warehouse 3 times a year (Operational Support)
  • Promotes a safe and secure environment for all associates, temporary employees, and customers' products.
  • Follows established operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Primarily responsible for ensuring training is completed (OSHA equipment, compliance, etc.) and records are maintained for a variety of needs including OSHA, customer, and other audits.
  • Manages key operational requirements within the budget and according to customers' requirements.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain, or general business preferred.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience in a distribution, 3PL, or warehouse environment.
  • Experience with WMS software required Manhattan Scale or Red Prairie a plus.
  • Experience with 5S and continuous improvement programs.
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with time keeping; ADP E-Time is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills. written and verbal communication skills
  • Good Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
  • Must have experience on forklift, reach, and order-selector.
  • 2-5 years warehouse experience.
  • 2-5 years working knowledge in WMS and RF systems.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
    Ability to problem solve.
