Kansas City Sports Commission & Foundation is Hiring a Digital Content Specialist Near Kansas, MO

Job Title: Digital Content Specialist

Organization: Kansas City Sports Commission & Foundation | WIN for KC

Location: Kansas City, Missouri

Reports To: Director, Marketing and Communications

Position Overview:

The Digital Content Specialist is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the digital presence of the Sports Commission and WIN for KC. This role primarily focuses on the creation of digital content, specifically through social media and email tactics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Social Media Strategy, Management and Execution:

· Develop and execute social media strategies to increase followers and brand visibility for six brands across various platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok.

· Using a unified social media platform tool, manage the editorial calendar for all channels ensuring timely and consistent content delivery

· Create and manage captivating and relevant social media content, including copywriting, reels and content curation.

· Facilitate responses to social media messages and comments.

· Actively review key performance indicators (KPIs) and modify strategy and/or tactics as needed.

Email Strategy and Management:

· Craft compelling, engaging emails to market Sports Commission and WIN for KC events, generating registrations and awareness.

· Develop high quality content for sponsor emails and drive engagement back to sponsor websites or social.

· Create an email newsletter strategy for different stakeholder groups.

· Regularly audit performance of emails through Pardot analytics and make data-informed decisions.

Website Marketing:

· Help create copy for website pages in conjunction with events team.

· Make updates or changes to website – related to the look and feel – as needed to ensure a positive experience for website visitors.

General Communication Support:

· Assist with general communication needs as requested.

· Assist with bid development as needed.

· Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of digital content with overall marketing and communication objectives.

· Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance our digital presence.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.

· Proven experience in digital content management, social media strategy, (analytic tools) and email marketing.

· Proficiency in Squarespace or similar website management platforms.

· Proficiency in Pardot or similar email management platforms (iContact, Mailchimp, etc.).

· Strong copywriting and content creation skills.

· Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

· Familiarity with sports and event marketing.

· Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

· 1 to 2 years of digital marketing experience in an agency or corporate setting.

· Basic knowledge of graphic design and ability to use platforms like Canva.
