We are experts in understanding the changing media landscape. Our Audience Measurement teams are charged with developing new approaches to measure this and that is where Project WFA Cross Media Measurement Initiative comes in. Project WFA Cross Media Measurement Initiative has been designed to address the needs of advertisers, who want to understand and plan campaigns across digital and broadcast platforms (from TikTok to BBC to YouTube) – we’ve pulled together all our latest thinking, our most up-to-date meters and our relationships with the online publishers such as Google and Facebook, and the result is something that we believe is the future of audience measurement.

What you'll be doing

This role oversees audience measurement research initiatives and ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of measurement data to our client, ensuring that this project meets and exceeds the client’s needs and expectations. This is a complex project with multiple internal and external stakeholders. We are looking for someone who will be passionate about the project and will enjoy working as part of a large team but who also wants the autonomy to get stuck in and make things happen.

The skills & experience needed

  • Overseeing the recruitment of a robust and engaged panel using a variety of recruitment approaches – and testing / implementing new approaches over time.
  • Using panel balance metrics to inform future recruitment requirements
  • Assessing the quality of the data produced by the panel
  • Working with the Operations team to ensure the timely installation of homes using training materials designed to ensure that all members of the panel feel informed and capable of complying with the panel tasks
  • Working with the panel admin team to ensure that panel comms are targeting required areas of compliance
  • Collaborating closely with clients to understand their specific measurement needs and translating those requirements into actionable research plans. Providing insights and recommendations based on audience measurement data to inform client marketing and advertising strategies.
  • Designing research studies and selecting appropriate methodologies to measure audience reach, frequency, demographics, and engagement. Identifying emerging trends and implementing innovative measurement techniques to adapt to the evolving media landscape.
  • Implementing quality control processes to validate data accuracy and consistency. Conducting audits and reviews to ensure the integrity of measurement systems and methodologies.
  • Communicating research findings, insights, and recommendations to internal stakeholders, clients, and industry partners through comprehensive reports and presentations.

Success Factors

  • Excellent knowledge and expertise about audience measurement and the commercial advertising market.
  • An understanding of panel data and its uses, either from a client-side role or an agency side one.
  • Research skills – experience of large scale, face-to-face research projects and working with operational teams. Expertise on panel design & weighting with experience of data collection methodologies (meters, tag-based collection, server-server connections)
  • Experience with data encryption would be valuable
  • Clear and strong communication skills, including the ability to convey complex subject matter easily and to build good rapport with varying grades of people, both client side and internally
  • Program management experience – being able to oversee a large, complex project, juggling deadlines and dependencies
  • People management experience, the ability to oversee workloads and work towards deadlines, as well as the ability to innovate and implement at pace
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to engage senior clients with both the research and commercial backgrounds
