The role:

The Staff Accountant position is part of the Accounting & Finance function, Americas region. The Staff Accountant is responsible for various general accounting functions including financial reporting and analysis, journal entries, account reconciliations, SAP/BPC report generation, communications with other business units both domestic and international, process improvements, and other general accounting functions as required.

What you will do:

• Participates in monthly/quarterly/year-end accounting close.
• Prepares and parks various journal entries in SAP, Generates financial reporting in SAP.
• Generates financial reporting in SAP/Verifies financial reports in BPC (Business, Planning, & Consolidation).
• Prepares and analyzes account reconciliations of general ledger and bank accounts.
• Provides financial analysis &/or various support schedules.
• Processes inter-company billings with affiliates.
• Researches and resolves business unit inquiries and financial questions.
• Executes process improvements as needed.
• Updates JSOX internal controls/accounting policies and procedures.
• Provides support to Kao Corp, Kao affiliates for various data requests.
• Supports internal/external audit staff with research and data requests.
• Maintains Fixed Asset system and related analysis:
  • Tracks capital spending/reporting.
  • Prepares and maintains Capital Budget including Depreciation.
  • Performs annual fixed asset inventory audits.

What you will need:

• Finance/Accounting Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Preferred CPA/MBA certification or degree
• Proficient use with MS Suite applications and SAP
• 1 years of Accounting or Finance related experience
• Preferred consumer products/consumer packaged goods, manufacturing or retail
