Job Status: Temporary Full Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Amount of Travel Required: 5%

Work Schedule: M-F 8:30-5:00

This Employee Advocate position assists client employees via phone & email with benefit inquiries pertaining to their employer-sponsored benefit plans.

The Employee Advocate's essential functions include:

Essential Functions

  • Assist client employees with day-to-day questions that arise in regard to their employee benefit program.
  • Access major insurance carrier/administrator systems to assist with resolving employee questions, fulfill ID card requests and locate in-network service providers.
  • Handle service inquiries related to Flexible Spending Account balances, and Benny Card Reorders.
  • Elevate complex inquiries to the Account Manager.
  • Assist employees with all aspects of the enrollment process, including eligibility, qualifying events, termination, and plan design clarification.
  • During working hours, be continuously logged into the phone system and enter detailed call notes on every incoming and outgoing call.
  • Consult with the service team assigned to each client when patterns of benefit questions are observed in order to assist the service team with proactive employee education.
  • Attend internal meetings as necessary, including client implementation and renewal meetings as well as department meetings.

  • Offer innovation and process improvements where possible to help with agency wide improvements and efficiencies
  • Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

To be considered for the Employee Advocate position, you should have:

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED): Required
  • 1-3 years experience in group benefits: Required
  • Call Center experience and knowledge of benefit enrollment systems: Preferred
  • Advanced computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Life & Health License: Preferred
