Key Responsibilities:
- Complete Ownership of Hardware Development: Design, develop, test, and optimize firmware and hardware components, being solely responsible for all hardware-related activities within the company.
- Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to align hardware development with organizational goals and product strategy.
- Compliance & Certification: Ensure all firmware and hardware designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including FDA, Military and lead the process for relevant certifications.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation through research and application of cutting-edge technologies to enhance product performance and reliability.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with suppliers and external partners, ensuring quality and timely delivery of components.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Provide guidance and technical leadership to other team members, fostering collaboration across departments.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of designs, specifications, validation procedures, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in firmware and hardware engineering, preferably in the medical device industry. Experience with Military standards is plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in embedded C/C programming.
- Mastery of hardware design and simulation tools.
- In-depth understanding of medical device regulations.
- Leadership & Ownership: Proven ability to lead complex projects independently, taking full ownership of all hardware development aspects.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Outstanding analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
