Sr. Engineer - Systems
The Sr. Engineer - Systems is responsible for the design, development, integration, and validation of all electrical components and subsystems at the vehicle level. They also provide technical oversight for the EE Systems team, Karma vehicle production plant, and customer vehicle issue resolution.
Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
- Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, integration, validation, and maturation of the electrical components on a vehicle level.
- Lead vehicle electrical systems integration and validation for components which include safety, EMC & environmental, FMVSS, etc.
- Coordinate requirement capturing and developing and maintaining test cases and test case procedures.
- Collaborate with engineers to define test plans, verification procedures, and review the results.
- Collaborate with internal engineers and outside suppliers to define and verify requirements as well as test procedures as well as assist with DVP&R and DFMEA creation.
- Collaborate with internal engineers to define logical schematics for various R&D projects and production vehicles.
- Participate in design review to validate electrical/system architecture and software.
- Develop, maintain, and perform regression tests on various environments including HIL/SIL, bench, and the engineering vehicle fleet.
- Responsible for leading the EE Systems team in troubleshooting and solving vehicle/electrical issues and provide suggestions on root cause solutions.
- Provide support to the manufacturing plant whenever technical issues arise.
- Provide support to the manufacturing plant with test benches used during vehicle builds.
- Provide technical leadership, expertise, and oversight to the EE Systems team and junior engineers.
- Evaluate and recommend options consistent with industry best practices.
- Ensure documentation of design decisions and testing are completed and comprehensive.
- Track and process work completed or in-progress on JIRA
- Other duties, as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study.
- 5 years working experience as Electrical/Systems Engineer in the automotive engineering field.
- Must display ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, and negotiate and execute contingency plans.
- Experience with automotive communication protocols (CANBUS, LIN, UDS, etc.)
- Experience with Engineering Process Management programs (Polarion, JIRA, Dassault Systems)
- Experience in requirements and test procedure defining and capturing.
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles as well as hardware and software design concepts.
- Familiar with lab test equipment, including oscilloscope, receivers, spectrum analyzers, and generators.
- Knowledge in automotive vehicle mechanical and electrical system architectures, including vehicle BUS communications, a plus.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, and Visio.
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015) as applicable.
- Preferred: Experience with Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) systems and testing.

Work Environment

Compensation:
$100,000 - 127,000 /annual salary. Compensation will vary DOE.

Compensation offered may vary on multiple factors, including market location, education, skills and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position being offered.
