Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesOverall management of construction activities and task assignments:
Physical DemandsPerformance of the required duties will require physical ability to occasionally climb permanent and temporary stairs, climb ladders, negotiate work areas under construction, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally requires use of construction personnel hoists. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job regularly requires use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, sit, talk, hear, stand. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move heavy weight. Employee must be capable of using tools, and able to help install equipment and make adjustments/modifications to that equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works on-site at the construction worksite where the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in this work environment can be moderate to very loud.
- Interfaces with other contractors to ensure all required materials, equipment and inspections support the project schedule.
- Works with Project Manager(s) to budget, forecast, and manage field labor, equipment, materials, small tools, consumables, and general working environment.
- Coordinates with customer with site specific needs and maintain positive relationship.
- Reviews construction documents for completeness and constructability.
- Creates, reviews and updates project schedule.
- Coordinates plans and specifications with engineers, identifying and clarifying any discrepancies.
- Develops and implements site utilization plan and establish crew sizes.
- Conducts effective pre-construction planning sessions and project site meetings.
- Establishes and nurtures teamwork environment with internal employees and contract employees.
- Coordinates and provides general oversite for contracted crews from multiple companies.
- Ensures crews have resources and support.
- Provides work direction and performance evaluations.
- Helps identity hiring needs and participate in hiring, performance management, and dismissal decisions.
- Maintains relationships with all visitors to the site: customers, architects, union representatives, subcontractors, etc
- Manages site work and logistics efficiently, providing suggestions for improvement

- Other duties as assigned.
- Completes PCM Training.
- Completes company LEAN training and participates in Kaizen events as needed.
- Understands Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements and how it applies to this position as determined by ISO 9001 and to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or 10 years’ trade experience.
- Five years of construction experience required.
- Two years supervisory experience required.
- Experience with $1 Million plus projects preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook required.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instruction, either written or verbal, diagram or schedule.
- Maintains an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers and subordinates in a one-on-one and/or group setting.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and dimensions.
- Ability to work with fractions and decimals, converting them back and forth.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex projects.
- Understands basic construction law and general accepted business practices.
- Must have a positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a high pace environment.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail a must.
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize time and various projects.
- Ability to work with confidential data.
