Job Description:
We are seeking a highly technical and experienced Senior Manager (VP Level) to lead our Platform Software Development Team in Santa Clara, CA. The ideal candidate will possess extensive software development and management experience, particularly in platform software that supports complex data paths and packet conduits. This role requires a deep understanding of embedded software development, multi-core platforms, and the ability to manage a team across multiple time zones.
Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Management: Lead and manage a team of approximately 10 software engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Ensure effective people management and project oversight across multiple time zones.
• Platform Software Development: Oversee the development and implementation of platform software, with a focus on data path efficiency and the seamless passage of packets through the system.
• Technical Expertise: Provide hands-on leadership, dedicating ~30% of your time to technical work, including code development, code reviews, and solving complex technical problems.
• Integration & Performance: Ensure the effective integration of software and hardware components, optimizing the performance of data paths across multi-core, multi-chipset platforms.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of projects, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in platform and embedded systems.
• Innovation & Problem-Solving: Drive innovation within the team, identifying and solving complex technical challenges related to platform software development.

Qualifications:

• Experience: At least 10 years of hands-on software development experience, preferably in platform software or similar fields.
• Management: Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a team of software engineers, with demonstrated success managing teams across two time zones.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in embedded, real-time, C programming, and a strong background in developing software on multi-core, multi-chipset platforms. Experience with software data paths and packet conduits is essential.
• Hands-On Leadership: Must be a hands-on leader, actively engaging with the engineering team on technical issues, and maintaining a strong presence in code development and problem-solving.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, inspire, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Preferred Skills: Familiarity with the Linux kernel and hardware register programming is a plus.
