general purpose of the position:

cashier is responsible to support sales transactions by providing excellent customer experience. maintain cash register operations (pos) and adhere to all company policies/ procedures and loss prevention standards.

• essential duties and responsibilities:
• provide exceptional customer service when processing or facilitating internal and external transactions.
• ensure all credit cards, checks and travelers checks balance.
• ensure change box has appropriate funding at all times.
• daily communication with the supervisor and/or operations manager to discuss issues relating to needs of opening and closing discrepancy.
• ensure recap of daily activities is effectively communicated to management
• demonstrate full awareness of operational and security procedures
• support sales associates on the selling floor and assist with markdowns when necessary
• operations:
• in partnership with management team where necessary, cashiers are responsible for processing:
• cash sales
• returns
• issue/ redemption of merchandise credits and gift cards
• post void transactions
• promotional discounts (in partnership with management)
• follow drawer count procedures; and ensure all cash drawers are accounted for in safe and are prepared for the following morning.
• loss prevention policies and procedures to be 100% complaint

physical requirements:

• available to work store schedule, as needed, including evenings, weekends and holidays
• standing for extended periods of time
• able to type on pos system
• bend / stoop

skills and abilities required:

• knowledge of pos system and basic computer skills
• willing to work in and promote a team oriented environment
• strong communication and interpersonal skills
• ability to multi-task, results driven and flexible to change
• must possess superb interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate with
• management and employees in the store
• education and experience required:
• minimum 1 year experience in a retail industry operating a cash register, preferably in a luxury store environment
• high school / college degree preferred
