We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented AR Manager to oversee our Accounts Receivable operations and ensure the financial health of our organization.

Position Summary

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager is responsible for leading the AR team and managing all aspects of the accounts receivable function. This role requires close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate billing, payment applications, and overall cash flow management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Recruit, select, and onboard AR staff. Provide ongoing training, mentoring, and performance management to ensure a high-performing team. Set clear job expectations, monitor performance, and manage compensation and career development.
  • Cash Management: Oversee daily cash management activities, including recording bank deposits, reconciling client remittances, and resolving payment issues. Collaborate with stakeholders to address any discrepancies in payment methods or amounts.
  • Month-End Close: Participate in the month-end closing process, ensuring accurate account reconciliations and timely financial reporting.
  • AR Team Development: Manage and develop the AR team, ensuring that staff are equipped to meet the demands of their roles and contribute to the overall success of the department.
  • Receivables Tracking & Collections: Monitor open receivables, oversee collection efforts, and identify accounts that may require escalation. Serve as the primary point of contact for at-risk accounts and work with internal teams to resolve disputes.
  • Operational Oversight: Lead weekly meetings to review invoice rejections, pending cash applications, invoice discrepancies, and other action items related to at-risk receivables.
  • Training & Development: Train new team members, interns, and others involved in the AR process to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Process Improvement: Coordinate the establishment, improvement, and documentation of departmental processes. Develop and implement company-wide Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the AR function.
  • Audit & Financial Review: Participate in financial statement reviews and audits conducted by external auditors, lenders, and other third parties. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in managing an accounts receivable team.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience with financial reporting, account reconciliation, and cash management.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective AR processes and procedures.
