KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting is Hiring a Senior Manager Technical Accounting Near Billerica, MA
ResponsibilitiesKBW Financial has partnered with a global life science company to identify a Sr. Manager of Technical Accounting. This newly created role will be responsible for managing various GAAP accounting matters and supporting M&A activity. This is a hybrid remote position requiring 1 to 2 days a week in office. Additional details include:
- Manage and ensure timely completion of M&A diligence activities and accounting support
- Evaluate and propose initial accounting for early-stage investments, equity method investments and M&A activities
- Perform on-going reviews for portfolio investments, including for impairment indicators and fair value adjustments and makes recommendations on accounting
- Address technical acquisition related issues and assist in due diligence review
- Assist with purchase price allocation studies performed by third party valuation firms
- Review post-acquisition balance sheets
- Lead the annual goodwill impairment evaluation under ASC-350
- Assist in establishing accounting policies for GAAP matters and accounting for acquisitions and investments
- Perform extensive review of new accounting pronouncements and provide recommended applications to the company
- Participate in the oversight of the internal controls program including performance of selected financial reporting controls
- Participate in the quarterly and annual close process as required
- Assist the business with complex transactional activity with US GAAP guidance
- Assist with the development and training of junior team members
- Support the annual audit process
- 7 years experience in Technical Accounting to include relevant M&A experience in public accounting / and or corporate
- BS degree in accounting, Finance, or related
- Advanced GAAP, financial controls and SOX experience
- Expert analytical skills with advanced problem-solving ability
