Senior Processing EngineerWe are working on a newly created engineering position for a multi-site organization. This role will play a critical role in the startup of a new aseptic processing facility in Rochester, NY. The Senior Processing Engineer will lead the technical execution of the plant s processing technology while providing solutions and expertise for operations, engineering, and reliability. Position location: Must be based out of the Rochester, NY area by the first quarter of 2025 Job Responsibilities:Manage strategic, technical projects and tasks in a very past paced environmentServe as a top resource and technical expert in aseptic processing in all disciplines of thermal process, product quality, and processing equipment reliabilityEngineer sustainable solutions using continuous improvement methodologyAssist technical engineers, maintenance, and operations troubleshooting and resolving reoccurring issuesWork hand in hand with plant vendors to reverse engineer critical parts/components of equipment. Ensure quality parts are made to specification and assign revisions for precise documentationLead the planning and implementation of processing technical projects. Develop plans, manage budget, plan and schedule project timelines, track project deliverables using appropriate tools, provide direction and support to team, constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders, implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve desired project outputs and evaluations and assessment of project resultsCoordinate, assist, plan and monitor the work of the maintenance and processing departments. Monitor performance, discover root cause, implement improvements to eradicate variances. Provide technical support where necessaryDevelop, train, assist, support, and collaborate to maintain a continuous improvement culture throughout the entire facility, across all departments forgoing an innovative environment which utilizes data tools available to drive root causesPerform misc. job-related duties as assignedRequired Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or related discipline requiredMinimum of 10 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specifiedAseptic experience required including UHT s, homogenizers, separators, filtration plants, mix proof valves, motors, pumpsAble to travel 50% in the first year to Arizona, then 10% thereafterAbility to update P&ID s, mechanical/electrical prints (CAD/SolidWorks preferred)Skilled in organized resources and establishing prioritiesSkilled in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and proceduresStrong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse communityAbility to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgements on confidential issuesAbility to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignmentsAbility to understand and modify PLCs, VFD s, network switchesAbility to analyze and assess training and development needsKnowledge of computerized information systems used in quality assurance, maintenance, and ERP applicationsAble to understand and utilize engineering drawing, operating manuals, and blueprints to conduct businessAble to stand for extended periods of time, climb ladders, lift a minimum of 40 lbs.Knowledge of USDA, State, Federal regulations for aseptic manufacturing
