Job SummaryManage the college's Prison Education Program (PEP) including recruiting, admissions, financial aid, enrollment, transfer, career, and re-entry processes. This includes establishing partnerships and providing direct service to incarcerated students. This position can be located at any Bluegrass Community & Technical College campus but must maintain on-site office hours five days per week at Northpoint Training Center (NTC) and Blackburn Correctional Complex (BCC) .
Job DutiesManage the BCTC PEP, which includes coordinating recruitment, admissions, financial aid, enrollment, transfer, career, and re-entry processes. Provide direct service to incarcerated students.
Provide on-site academic and student support to PEP students and faculty.
Assist the Financial Aid Office in completing federal and state reporting requirements and maintain required financial aid and student records.
Work with Academic Assistant Deans to coordinate PEP course offerings each semester.
Assist SACSCOC Liaison in maintaining all applicable accreditation standards including MOAs, faculty credential files, and off-site visits.
Establish and maintain relationships with correctional administration, re-entry services, potential employers, transfer institutions and other internal/external groups to provide support to students.
Lead the development of promotional materials, education materials and online content.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Counseling, Education, or some other related field with a minimum of 4 years experience working in a related field.
Preferred QualificationsTwo to three years of relevant work experience in educational provision for adults in custody.
Additional Skills RequestedExperience working with a diverse student population.
