Title: Adjunct Faculty- CHLSS - Psychology Salary Range: $776 per credit hr Contract Term Length: Not Applicable Standard Hours: Varies Work Location: On-Site FLSA Status: Exempt College: Bluegrass Community & Technical College Campus Location: Bluegrass C&TC - Newtown Pike Campus Department: Academics, & Student Services Job SummaryThis part-time adjunct faculty appointment is in the Communication, History, Languages, and Social Sciences (CHLSS) Division, Department of Psychology & Family Studies. The assignment is on a semester-to-semester basis, primarily for in-person, on-campus teaching. The position requires flexibility of schedule which may include days, evenings, and a variety of campus locations. These duties include the evaluation & supervision of students, working collaboratively with the Program Coordinator and other faculty, and completing professional development requirements for adjunct faculty. Job Duties
Demonstrate current knowledge required by the curriculum for Psychology.
Provide classroom instruction for undergraduate psychology studies courses including, but not limited to, General Psychology and/or Lifespan Development.
Competently adjust provided online components (LMS and publisher content and engagement platforms) to best meet students’ needs with assistance from Program Coordinator.
Practice regular and consistent interaction with, and feedback to, students through LMS and/or classroom venue.
Work collaboratively with faculty & staff to provide education, evaluation, and supervision to students.
Complete required professional development training required of adjunct faculty.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in psychology or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in psychology required.
Course Prefix PSY or written confirmation of psychology credits with other course prefixes.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in psychology and at least two years of teaching experience.
Experience with Blackboard and/or other instructional technology, including eTextbooks and online learning materials.
