Job SummaryFacilitates education, training, and supportive services for grant, program, or project. The Educational Success Coach will work with project participants to help them develop and perfect skills and knowledge needed for success in their chosen career path. Job Duties
Facilitates the grant, program, or project.
Assists in recruitment efforts for the grant, program, or project.
Maintains files for students/participants in program.
Provides assessment of student academic needs.
Conducts parent meetings and workshops.
Mentors “at risk” students.
Reviews student grades with school personnel.
Monitors all grant programs or projects to see that requirements are met and within budget guidelines.
Maintains and keeps inventory of student assignment and grades.
Identify students’ strengths and weaknesses to help them improve upon and strengthen both.
Provide constructive criticism, formative feedback and “reality checks” for improvement to promote success.
Ensure students are continuing to develop their desired skills and progress towards learning goals.
Provide information about career pathways that match students’ needs, skills, and interests.
Help students prepare their Individual Learning Plan (ILP).
Identify appropriate milestones, troubleshoot obstacles, and suggest change as needed.
Maintain records of coaching sessions and report challenges to team members for interventions.
Liaison with on and off campus support, admissions, financial aid, academic support, and workforce development partners to connect employers seeking trained workers and workers seeking employment
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (related field), and four-years related experience, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Six years of related experience.
Problem Solving: The same type problems usually come up again and again. Suggests new solutions to the supervisor or others in handling unusual problems.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Functions as a first-line supervisor over others and is responsible for hiring, terminating, appraising performance, or strongly recommending such personnel actions.
Oversight and Direction: Receives general direction working from established policies and objectives. Plans and carries out assignments and resolves most conflicts that arise.
