Job Summary

Serves as the lead Staff trainer for MAINTech (Multi-skilled Advanced Industrial Maintenance Training); facilitating hands-on, skills-based instruction and lab-based simulations on topics including;

employability skills, safety & universal precautions, lean operations, general tools, and problem-solving.

Job Duties :

Serves as the lead trainer for MAINTech (Multi-skilled Advanced Industrial Maintenance Training); facilitating hands-on, skills-based instruction and lab-based simulations on topics including;

employability skills, safety & universal precautions, lean operations, general tools, and problem-solving.

  • Develop curriculum for and facilitate the delivery of customized industry training for employer partners; track student attendance, track student progress, and monitor all student skill activities.
  • Deliver quarterly six week advanced manufacturing pathway boot camps for entry-level production employees and dislocated workers.
  • Assist with employer and student recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Support the Workforce Solutions department in connecting employer partners with workforce development initiatives at HCC.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree (related technical field), and three years related experience, or equivalent; OR Associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance or Manufacturing related degree and five years of relevant work experience or equivalent;

OR High School diploma and seven years of relevant work experience within an Industrial Maintenance or Manufacturing related field is required.

  • Experience working with students or adults from diverse backgrounds including underprepared, low-income, and underrepresented populations.
  • Demonstrates and facilitates team spirit in the department and community.

Preferred Qualifications :

Technical skills required for the position include a working knowledge of industrial electrical / mechanical, motor controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), fluid power (hydraulic and pneumatic systems), blueprint reading, robotics, and welding.
