Kdc/one Northern Labs is Hiring a CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER Near Manitowoc, WI

Description / Scope / MissionMonitor and improve organizational processes with the aim of making them as efficient as possible in line with the customer expectations and the regulatory requirements (FDA cGMP, BRCGS Consumer Products standard, ISO9001 standard).
Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities
  • Drive for Results: Help dept. leaders to link losses to performance metrics teams. Tracks the right metrics and drive actions to continuously improve productivity, safety, quality
  • Leading teams: Creates a culture of continuous improvement by providing leadership and guidance across the business. Create a working environment that nurtures the sharing of knowledge and expertise, while enabling team success. Ensure team focus to achieve plant wide objectives
  • Inspire change/improvement: Fosters a working environment open to new ideas, encouraging calculated risks to advance the organization. Negotiation and compromise skills
  • Negotiation/compromise: Understands when to negotiate and compromise for the greater good of the site/company
  • Operational excellence deployment: Help leaders focus on a common approach to drive improvements across the site. Responsible for the vision, strategy, communication, and resourcing of the continuous improvement journey – Guiding coalition creation
  • Strategic thinking: Facilitate journey towards operational excellence
  • Emotional intelligence: Ability to stay calm/focused and give well-thought out directions when addressing issues – keeping the end goal in mind
  • Business Acumen: Embrace and translate KDC’s vision, mission, and values. Understands KDC’s business strategy and results. Stays abreast to external trends and best practices. Optimize value creation.
  • Perform other duties as required and requested by supervisor.
MARGINAL JOB DUTIES:
Marginal duties under PSM guidelines.
Education / Certification / Qualifications / Experience
  • Four year University degree (Engineering/Industrial Processes) or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Lean tool certifications
  • Black Belt
  • Previous Continuous Improvement in manufacturing setting
Experience:
  • Kaizen leadership experience
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools (TPM, VSM, 5S, Kaizen, etc)
  • Problem solving resolution.
  • Facilitation – presentations and speaking ability.
  • Operational finance (understanding cost and cash, P&L).
  • Process control SPC concepts.
  • Proficient in use of problem-solving tools (Ishikawa, FMEA, A3 etc.).
  • Understanding of VSM (current state, ideal state).
  • Cross functional team leadership experience.
  • P&L, product costing experience.
  • Varied understanding of business processes (multiple depts.).
  • Experience with autonomous, preventive maintenance.
  • Standard work development.
  • Change management experience.
  • Technical writing experience (reporting/presenting, KPI development etc.).
  • Experience performing loss analysis bottom up and top down .
  • Opex deployment experience.
  • Demonstrated managerial courage (drive to succeed through adversity).
Other Experience a Plus
  • Regulatory (OSHA, quality, ISO, cGMP, etc.)
  • Multi-site CI Experience
  • Previous leadership experience (supervisor, etc.)
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
  • Black Belt
  • Lean Certification
