Keegan Adams Recruitment is Hiring a Risk Manager - Operations Near Sydney, FL

About the company

This is a great opportunity to join an ASX-listed, Australian business within Insurance dedicated to their people who celebrate diversity and inclusion. Priding themselves on creating a positive and inclusive working environment and passionate about work-life balance, enjoy working a hybrid model between their modern offices in Sydney CBD and working from home.

About the role

This is a newly created role, in which you will oversee the daily management of incidents, focusing on driving significant and measurable improvements to the incident management capabilities.

You will own the process end-to-end and work closely with senior stakeholders in the business to ensure the company has robust and effective incident management frameworks. You will report to the Senior Risk Manager and work closely with the wider risk team across all three lines of defence.

This is an opportunity to utilise your strong stakeholder engagement skills to drive the success of the risk and control frameworks for incident management. This dynamic role brings lots of variety to each day with functions including risk reporting, control testing, process improvements, operational risk analysis and working with external service providers.

Some responsibilities of the role include:

  • Liaise with key stakeholders to decide the optimal operating model for managing incidents within the business.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders (including 2LOD) to create and implement a monitoring framework for key regulatory obligations including LICOP.
  • Identify and rate risks within the business.
  • Work closely with the Operations team to provide training and advice on incident management policies and procedures.
  • Perform periodic analysis of incident data, compiling reports on this data and looking at ways to improve the risk and control environment.
  • Provide support with internal or external audits, work closely with external service providers, and collaborate with the wider risk team.

The preferred candidate will have:

  • Minimum 4-5 years experience in Risk or Compliance (ideally from a Life Insurance background or otherwise Financial Services).
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with RG146 qualification a bonus.
  • Prior experience implementing a risk and control framework, excellent project management skills and strong analytics skills.
  • Great communication skills as you’ll need to liaise with internal and external stakeholders and be able to influence peers.
  • A self-starter with a can-do attitude and a curious mindset.

Benefits:

  • Hybrid working with a modern office in Sydney CBD.
  • Financial assistance and time off for studying.
  • Extended parental leave, paid volunteer days and the opportunity to purchase additional leave.
  • Free mental health support in the form of meditation and counselling for you and your family.

Please note, only Australian Citizens or PR candidates will be considered.
