Kelley Drye & Warren LLP is Hiring a Strategic Pricing Technical Analyst Near New York, NY

At Kelley Drye, we understand Strategic Pricing is more than just spreadsheets - our team applies a Legal Operations mindset to drive value across not only Pricing and Budgeting, but Analytics, Sales, Marketing, Project Management, and more.

The Strategic Pricing Team is in a unique position where we work cross-functionally with each Firm department and practice area, giving us an unparalleled view into Firm operations and financial performance. In addition to having oversight of pricing operations, the team is also responsible for driving the data and analytics strategy across the Firm, establishing both the "look-and-feel" of our reports and front-end user experience design. If the ability to see and feel the impact your own work is having on the wider organization is important, this is the role for you.

This position will have a high degree of exposure with Firm Partners and executive committee members, and collaborates closely with the Director of Strategic Pricing and the team’s other analysts. The Strategic Pricing Technical Analyst will play a core role in advancing and developing our quickly expanding analytics program, utilizing their strong experience with Power BI, DAX, and SQL to interact and visualize our extensive dataset. They’ll be vital to delivering unparalleled data transparency, insights, and front-end user experience to partners and clients alike.

The Strategic Pricing Technical Analyst will also be an essential player in mapping and understanding how to create a cohesive data ecosystem from multiple disparate sources, by collaborating directly with Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, and Marketing to ensure data is not only available, but consistent across the Firm. Further, they’ll need to have a passion and aptitude toward not only making data available but presenting it in such a way where it’s attractive to look at, intuitive to use, and easily understood across all levels of financial fluency.

How You’ll Make a Difference

  • Act as one of the primary focal points in the Reporting & Analytics program, working closely with the Director of Strategic Pricing to facilitate report design, creation, maintenance, and end-user discussions.
  • Manage our existing reporting pipeline, and proactively suggest new reports based on end-user needs.
  • Apply statistical modeling methods to determine the potential impact of pricing strategies on profitability.
  • Forecast revenue and market share based on market trends, production costs, profit margins, and sales volumes.
  • Establish and maintain a listing of reporting & data best practices and user manual.
  • Deliver both one-on-one training, and larger-scale presentations, on dashboards and analytics.
  • Develop financial models and analytics in support of pricing proposals.
  • Compile and analyze data and historical statistics relating to revenue, realization, and profitability.
  • Contribute to the preparation of various templates and robust financial and pricing models with other analysts to help provide partners with projected outcomes for alternative pricing arrangements.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3 - 6 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or another analytics related discipline. Bonus: 2 of those years at a Fortune 500 company, and 2 years at an AmLaw 200 law firm.
  • An eye for design as it relates to dashboards, reports, presentations, and training materials – end user experience should be front of mind.
  • Exceptional communication skills, in writing and verbally, whether in small group discussions, large-scale presentations, or with executives.
  • Strong understanding of database design (SQL tables, relationship designs, etc.) with the ability to connect new data tables into our existing dataset architecture.
  • Working proficiency with SQL or other query languages.
  • Comfortable working with and analyzing large datasets to derive actionable insights.
  • Experience with law firm technology such as Aderant, with a high proficiency in Excel, and Visualization Tools (Power BI preferred)
  • Strong understanding of Power BI security/Row Level Security (RLS), working in a data pipeline, Gateway updating, and Azure/Power Apps
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
