Overview

As an integral member of the Analytical Laboratory team, the ICP Analytical Chemist plays a crucial role in the quality assurance of our client's products by analyzing test samples through state-of-the-art ICP-MS and ICP-OES instrumentation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in chemistry, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for advancing scientific accuracy in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Technical Proficiency: Utilize ICP-MS and ICP-OES instruments for the analysis of test samples, ensuring precise results that adhere to our quality standards.
• Instrumentation Oversight: Conduct daily maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of analytical instruments to guarantee operational efficiency.
• Collaborative Support: Provide assistance in supervising the activities of laboratory technicians or assistants, ensuring that laboratory operations are conducted in compliance with established protocols.
• Quality Control: Participate in troubleshooting and resolving discrepancies in test results to maintain the integrity of our quality assurance processes.
• Operational Flexibility: Perform additional duties as required, reflecting the evolving needs of the laboratory, and supporting the continuous improvement of our operations.

Qualifications

Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field.

Industry Experience: A minimum of one year of experience working with ICP instrumentation, with a strong preference for candidates with over three years of experience. Demonstrated experience in analytical or chemical testing applied to pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, nutritional supplements, and related industries.

Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory and industry standards including but not limited to USP, CTFA/PCPC, AOAC, CPSC, EPA, ASTM, ensuring compliance with their testing methodologies.

Technical Competencies: Proficiency in ICP-MS and ICP-OES techniques, along with a broad understanding of related chemical equipment and analytical practices specific to the pharmaceutical, nutritional, and cosmetic sectors.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

Computer Literacy: Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite, along with the ability to effectively utilize search engines, create spreadsheets, and employ laboratory-specific software.

Adaptability: The capacity to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting swiftly to process improvements aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and product quality.

Leadership Potential: While direct managerial responsibilities might be limited, the ability to mentor and oversee laboratory technicians or assistants when necessary is valued.
