What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Technician - Accounts Payable position at Kennewick Irrigation District?
Under general supervision, the Accounting Technician performs responsible accounting and administrative work in the preparation, maintenance, entry and verification of accounting transactions, documents and records in one or more areas such as assessment billing, payroll and payroll taxes, accounts payable, and miscellaneous invoices. Essential duties may include: Verifying, auditing, editing, and preparing payroll; administering benefit plans; preparing, reviewing, and reconciling quarterly and annual federal and state payroll tax reports; verifying, auditing, and preparing accounts payable invoices and related documentation for payment; performing assessment and utility billing processing; providing support to customer service staff on accounts receivable cash processing; providing requested information for auditors; reviewing and processing unclaimed property to the State of Washington; maintaining petty cash fund; and performing special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED plus two (2) years of computerized accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, and/or accounting experience in a double-entry accounting system; AA degree in accounting is preferred and may substitute for part f the required experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.86 - $32.47 per hour
