Primary Role :

Kentucky State Police Supply Branch services vehicles from across the state. The Automotive Technician I willbe doing general maintenance such as oil changes, brakes, and tires.

Key Responsibilities :

• Maintains automotive vehicles and equipment by repairing, adjusting, or replacing batteries, performingtune-ups, replacing, and adjusting headlights, checking fluids and lubricants, changing filters and belts,changing and rotating tires, etc.
• Learns to perform more complex duties by assisting higher level technician sin functions such asdisassembling, repairing, and assembling engines, transmissions, etc.
• Operates tools and machines in repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Inspects and analyzes automobile vehicles and equipment for repairs and service.
• Completes servicing reports for repairs and maintenance.

• Proficiency with required equipment
• Ability to lift heavy objects or work in uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time
• Attention to detail

Minimum Requirements EDUCATION : High school graduate.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS : Must have two years of automotive and / or equipment repair technical experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE : Vocational or technical school training in automotive / truck repair or a related area will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
