Keolis Transit America is Hiring a Behind The Wheel Instructor - Valley Metro Near Tempe, AZ
Knowledge and Experience:
Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an operator
Must have a minimum of one (1) year of safety/training experience
Perform DOT mandatory Drug and Alcohol testing
Must have and maintain qualifications to operate all equipment utilized within the location
Must have and maintain all required licenses and certifications
Must currently hold a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with P endorsement & Airbrakes
Must hold Keolis Behind-the-Wheel Trainer Certification or acquire during the first 60 days
Excellent customer service record, with no customer complaints in the previous twelve (12) months
Must successfully pass the background screening process including an MVR check
Skills:
Excellent planning and leadership abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Provide experience as the Road Supervisor
An eye for detail
Ability to make decisions, manage change, motivate, delegate, and manage time
Key Accountabilities:
Provides behind-the-wheel training for new operators and trainees
Conducts on-board evaluations and in service training to operators according to schedule and/or need
Provides behind-the-wheel retraining as directed
Performs ride checks and road observations as requested
Completes documentation forms in accordance with Keolis, State, Federal, local, and Company requirements
Evaluates new operator driving skills using appropriate checklists and evaluation forms
Provides appropriate feedback to new operators
Assesses the competence of new operators
Ensures operators are fully trained prior to being released into revenue service
Serves as role model and mentor to new operators
Identifies retraining needs
Recognizes and reports safe and unsafe acts / conditions to Management
Provides feedback to Safety Manager, GM, Operations Manager and other appropriate staff regarding training needs
Assists training department in identifying additional or refresher training needs based on current trends within the employee base
Other duties as assigned

Drug and alcohol screening: Employment contingent upon passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screen. Also, contingent upon receiving a favorable background check. Must pass a physical examination.
