Kept Companies is Hiring a Route Manager Near SeaTac, WA

We are the nation’s largest facilities provider company with over 100 locations.

The Route Manager (RM) is responsible for the safe and efficient completion of all available work for their assigned routes. Most days will consist of a mix of 30% office-related activities and 70% field-related activities. The route manager will engage in record keeping activities, scheduling, billing, jobsite quality and safety checks, and fleet and equipment maintenance management. This position requires a significant amount of driving from jobsite to jobsite getting in and out of a vehicle. At times, the route manager may be required to engage in or work alongside crew members both for training and for assistance, and therefore must be willing to engage in washing and other manual labor activities. The route manager must possess some training in computer use and can learn Kept Companies operations software. Skills and experience in managing a dynamic work environment with many employees of varied skill levels is a must. There are no assigned work hours for this position, however time off is rarely available on weekends and is limited normally to two consecutive weekdays. The route manager must have the ability to self-manage within the workweek accomplishing many tasks and goals assigned. The route manager must be reachable by phone on all scheduled workdays.

 Key Responsibility Areas (KRA)

  • QUALITY CONTROL. Includes dispatching crews on time and with correct equipment, checking in with them while they are on the job to inspect work, answer any questions that may come up in the field, organizing and leading route team members in precise execution of services to achieve high customer satisfaction, make sure photos are uploaded into the portal.
  • SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE

Lead team and personally adhere to company standards for safety, environmental compliance, asset management, and procedural practices. 

  • OPERATIONAL EFFECIENCY

Completing 100% of assigned work in the most efficient manner possible while maintaining customer satisfaction, checking emails daily, discuss any changes to the schedule with operations manager, make sure all POs are entered into each job before reconciling, help keep labor under 37%, use optimize button on all routes being scheduled, make sure all phones are charged.

  • SCHEDULING AND BILLING WORKFLOWS

Complete and validate schedule by Sunday, prior to the following week’s beginning, 

each day reconcile all work and routes from the prior day immediately after dispatch, each week must be completely billed and reconciled with all wages accounted for by 12PM Tuesday morning.

Regular Duties

  • At the direction of the Operations Manager, a route manager may be asked to aid in hiring, promotion, discipline, and other HR related activities
  • Overseeing all route level employees including onboard training, and day to day route activities.
  • Respond to operational problems in the field including breakdowns, injuries or other issues as they arise.
  • Ensure preparation of and regular service of all assigned vehicles and equipment.
  • Correcting issues or complaints from customers. 
  • Responding to emergencies and special call in work from customers.
  • Assist or lead monthly team safety meetings.
  • Assist in the regular reviews, and counseling of all route employees.

Compensation and Benefits 

  • Route manager will receive a company cell phone and credit card for work related expenses.
  • Route manager will participate in company health and vacation plan.
  • Route manager will be paid a base salary of $58k - $62.5K plus commission based on meeting route goals.
  • Experience is a plus but not required for this position. We will train the right candidate.
