History Of Porterville CollegePorterville College was established in 1927 as a part of the Porterville Union High School and College District and has been a unit of the Kern Community College District since July 1, 1967. Porterville College is the northernmost college in the Kern Community College District, which serves an area of some 24,000 square miles in all or portions of Kern, Tulare, Inyo, and San Bernardino Counties.
Porterville College is a federally designated Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), providing educational opportunities for approximately 4,500 full and part time students each year. Our College has been serving the community and providing quality education since its founding.

Representative DutiesWho We Are Looking ForWe are excited to offer a Full-time, tenure-track, 175-day position at our institution, seeking a visionary and motivated individual to establish and lead a pioneering program in 3D Animation and Game Design within our Fine Art Department. This groundbreaking role calls for an individual who is eager to chart new territories in contemporary digital arts education. As a faculty member, the individual would be foundational in developing and teaching a range of courses in 3D Animation, Game Design, Digital Imaging, and Graphic Design. This position will involve not only delivering instruction but also crafting the curriculum from the ground up, employing industry-standard software tools such as Maya, Blender, Unreal Engine, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and InDesign.
The role will be central to fostering innovation and excellence in teaching, shaping the program's direction and content to align with current and future industry trends. A strong background in non-linear digital video editing and motion graphics will be instrumental in building a comprehensive and cutting-edge teaching portfolio.
This position represents a unique opportunity to influence the academic and professional trajectories of aspiring artists and designers. They would be responsible for creating and adapting teaching methodologies to suit a variety of learning environments, including in-person, online, or hybrid classes. The work will lay the foundation for a new generation of creative professionals, making a significant mark in the fields of Animation and Game Design within the context of fine arts education.
Minimum QualificationsMaster's in fine arts, art, or art history
ORBachelor's in any of the above
ANDMaster's in humanities
