Responsibilities
Grow and develop the School of Management into an Internationally recognized leader in business and management education through development of faculty, staff , community and industry relationships.
Develop and grow external funding opportunities. Work with governmental agencies, foundations, and private sector companies to identify and develop funding opportunities. Coordinate and support institutional initiatives relating to technology transfer and intellectual property issues. Work with community leaders to identify opportunities to enhance research and development in Flint and the region.
Provide leadership for research for the School of Management and a strategic agenda for research and graduate programs. In collaboration with the department heads, faculty and staff, provide institutional leadership in the areas of research and graduate education.
Provide administrative supervision for the School of Management. Provide daily supervision of the employees and faculty for the School of Management.
Provide budget oversight. Develop and implement policies and processes for the School of Management. Provide accreditation oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
•Significant experience with accreditation is strongly preferred
•Academic credentials commensurate with the endowed chair in the School of Management
•Experience in growing and promoting research within a traditionally teaching-focused institution
•Curriculum development experience
•Fund raising experience
•Administrative experience in managing graduate and undergraduate programs
•Experience and familiarity with online education models
•A high level of competency with technology
•A record of innovative problem-solving and outcomes driven leadership
•A track record of collaborative relationships with business, community and industry leaders and
•Substantial industry experience
Required Qualifications
•PhD in Supply Chain Management or closely related fields from a recognized AACSB accredited university
•Significant administrative experience at the Department Head level or above
•Academic credentials commensurate with the rank of tenured professor in the School of Management
•Demonstrated success in promoting diversity
•Successful relationship building experience
•Demonstrated strong communication skills
•Successful budget management experience
•Experience in hiring, developing and evaluating personnel in a higher education institution
