Medical Administrative Assistant Job Responsibilities:
- Answer phones, schedule patient appointments, verify patient demographic information, determine purpose of visit.
- Confirm patient appointments.
- Initiate patient chart preparation for office clinical days: obtain provider notes, study results, gather relevant data for meaningful office visit, file patient information in charts.
- Generate patient study orders per standing protocols.
- Assist in on site patient clinic in Galion, OH possibly up to 5 days/week.
- Help patients by answering calls, providing information, services, and assistance.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Serve and protect the practice by adhering to professional standards, facility policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements.
- Enhance practice by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job performance.
- Designated quiet home office space necessary when working remotely.
Work Hours & Benefits
- 40 hours / week
- $15 - $17 / hour based on experience
- Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday on site at Avita Galion Hospital with approximate shift length: 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM. Lunch provided.
- Monday and Thursday initially remote schedule during business hours with availability to be on site in clinic as Galion office hours expand.
- $450/month Health Care reimbursement/benefit including Dental and Eye insurance.
- Flexible PTO/vacation time after 90 days.
- Practice to provide computer, printer/scanner, and headset for dedicated home office.
- $45 / month stipend toward high-speed home internet.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- 3 years in a medical office.
- Experience with Epic and Modernizing Medicine EMR (electronic medical records) preferred.
- Previous experience in spine preferred.
- Excellent computer and typing skills including ability to use Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
