SUMMARY: Supervises the maintenance and repairing of equipment, the physical building structures and the grounds. Oversees the effectiveness of the janitorial services. Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs of vehicles. Oversees the water and sewage systems serving Key Training Center.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises the daily activities of Maintenance Personnel.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:
High school graduate or equivalent certification.
EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated ability in the repair and maintenance areas including mechanical, carpentry, electrical, heating and air conditioning and automotive repair with sufficient knowledge and background to diagnose maintenance needs.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with outside vendors or employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid Florida driver' s license with safe driving record.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to deal courteously, tactfully and efficiently with program participants, staff members and the general public.
Emotional stability and maturity with a genuine interest in working for an organization that must maintain strong and effective life/safety/fire protocols.
Capable of working flexible hours/day or week-end schedule.
Strong managerial or supervisory competencies.
Knowledge of life-safety and building fire/ safety codes.
Willingness to comply with in-service, training or other fire/safety code mandates.
Ability to diagnose problems and perform multiple repair functions (or seek assistance if necessary).

Protective measures are required. Hepatitis B vaccine is recommended.
