The Analytics Services & Tools team is hiring an AI/ML Data Science Lead to build new A.I. processes for the bank, and drive better and faster decisions through data and predictive models. We are seeking an inspirational leader to work cross-functionality with multitude business units, mainly with Operations & Technology teams, and eventually guide a team of data scientists in creating advanced AI models, predictive solutions, and state-of-the-art AI insights to increase revenue, reduce cost, and improve operational efficiencies.

We need a hands-on independent leader with expertise in various AI techniques, such as clustering, classification, and regression models, leveraging mainly the Vertex AI platform. This role also requires a strong advocate for MLOps to ensure team productivity and efficiency, along with a deep understanding of Vertex AI to build scalable models with best practices.

Essential Job Functions

*Leadership and Technical A.I. Work Management:

oCreate a business and technical plan to deliver AI insights to different lines of businesses, including the Consumer and Commercial organization.

oDevelop and execute the strategic vision working with various vendors, SOWs, and eventually creating your own team

oEnsure the team delivers high-quality predictive models and forecasting solutions that drive business value

*Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:

oCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into data science projects

oCommunicate complex technical concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner

*Creating meaningful models that deliver business value:

oYou will be developing classification, regression, time series, clustering and other types of AI models that aim at driving better business for KeyBank

oYou will create patterns in Vertex AI that can be reused to create faster and better models that get better over time

oYou will work with stakeholders to understand their needs and drive value for their business

*Model and AI Governance:

oYou will ensure the AI models you and your team will be creating are confirm to KeyBank's standards and model governance

oYou will ensure we have proper supervision and monitoring of our models, catch data drifts, and take action when models don't deliver desired outcomes

oYou will advocate for and enforce best practices in data science and machine learning workflows

*Continuous Learning and Innovation:

oStay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI

oWork with Google Cloud team to learn, test and advise KeyBank on incoming future technologies

oEncourage continuous learning and development within the team, fostering a culture of innovation

Key Competencies

*Ability to work with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate into a data science project

*Clear and adaptable communication skills for articulating requirements and communicating technical solutions to business audience

*Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, AI/ML concepts, with practical experience and a track records of models in production

*Deep knowledge of the Vertex AI platform, and ability to create repeatable patterns using its different modules to create fast and accurate AI models

*Curious and proactive approach to self-learning and data investigation

*Ability to develop strong, trusted partnerships/relationships with the technology team and critical stakeholder groups and leadership

*Willingness to step into uncomfortable situations to advocate for quality solutions or to express a contrary point of view to a senior business leader

Essential Qualifications

*Master's degree (or its equivalent) in Data Analytics, Business Management, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Statistics (or other related field) with 5 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree (or its equivalent) with 8 years of relevant experience

*Familiarity with the Google Cloud Platform or other cloud platforms

*Strong knowledge of Vertex AI, MLOps, AI development, exploratory data analysis and various market AI tools and concepts

*Experience translating data into clear narratives and presentations for senior level executives

*Strong data background

*Strong technical management experience

*Excellent communication skills

*Good team player - the team's success is your success

*Experience with both Business and Technology perspectives

*Python or equivalent programming language skills

*Demonstrated ability to influence leaders - up, down, and across the organization

*Experience in multiple areas at Key and knowledge of how to navigate the organization to get things done

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $110,000 to $206,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
