Keyway: Center for Diversion & Reentry is Hiring a House Monitor Full-Time (Evening 4pm-12am) Near St. Louis, MO

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The House Monitor supports the residential program teams in the capacity of an onsite presence during overnight and weekend hours and is responsible for providing a safe and secure residential environment. This position reports to the House Monitor Supervisor.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

(Responsibilities to include but not limited to the following)

Overarching Responsibilities:

Maintains a safe facility by:

  • Documenting participants’ arrivals and departures from the facility and monitoring all onsite activities.
  • Monitoring the property for potential risks by conducting walkthroughs of the property and observing installed safety video equipment.
  • Observing participants and guests on property.
  • Attend and complete training as required.
  • Conducting safety searches in accordance with applicable guidelines.
  • Communicating all safety concerns to appropriate staff in a timely manner.
  • Provides access to and documents receipt of all participant medications in accordance with applicable guidelines.
  • Reports and documents all incidents of concern, including but not limited to participant medical emergencies, severe weather concerns, facility maintenance issues, and participants’ fulfillment of program expectations to their onsite or on-call supervisor in accordance with applicable guidelines.
  • Administers, reports, and documents all urinalysis and breathalyzer testing in accordance with applicable guidelines.
  • Answers phone calls to the facility and redirects the calls as needed.
  • Logs participants’ personal belongings at time of move-in until move-out.
  • Attends all house monitor meetings and/or team meetings.
  • Stay past assigned shift as needed to ensure 24-hour coverage of facility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Frequent and regular contact with House Monitor Supervisor.
  • Frequent and regular internal contact with all Keyway staff.
  • Interact on a daily basis with program participants.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

Education:

High School Diploma/GED/HiSet required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ work experience.
  • Criminal justice experience, preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
  • High comfort level working with people from a wide range of backgrounds and a professional approachable manner.
  • Willingness to learn about mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Willingness to learn the principles of trauma-informed care.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and to work well under pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal skills required for daily internal communications.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Considerable concentration.
  • Moderate to constant interruptions.
  • Moderate noise level.
  • Low to moderate eye strain.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour
