RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client, a Detroit MI-based automotive manufacturer who brings engineering, technology, and design together to create innovative vehicles, energy solutions, and in-vehicle services is seeking a Design Engineer 4.
Summary:
Along with working on engine components, the designer might also be assigned to do thermal or chassis design work. One of the main focuses of the business will be collaborating with the DLTs, engineers, and design peers. The main function of a design engineer is to develop, and design manufactured products, such as cars and home appliances. A typical design engineer needs to combine artistic talent with research on product use, marketing, and materials to create the most functional and appealing product design.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare sketches of ideas, detailed drawings, illustrations, artwork, or blueprints, using drafting instruments, paints and brushes, or computer-aided design equipment
* Modify and refine designs, using working models, to conform with customer specifications, production limitations, or changes in design trends
* Design graphic material for use as illustration or advertising on manufactured materials and packaging or containers
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Architecture or Engineering; Master's degree preferred
* 8-10 years of experience required
* The ideal applicant should be proficient in NX design software; Knowledge of Vis Mockup, Teamcenter, and drawing is a plus
* Basic ability to utilize various forms of media, including print, electronic and film
* Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models
* Previous experience using the computer to create layouts and generate new images
* Experience with Adobe imaging software (i.e., Illustrator, Photoshop), computer aided design (CAD) software and graphics software
* Creativity, verbal and written communication skills and problem-solving ability
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
