RESPONSIBILITIES: Kforce's client, a Detroit MI-based automotive manufacturer who brings engineering, technology, and design together to create innovative vehicles, energy solutions, and in-vehicle services is seeking a Design Engineer in Warren, MI. Job Responsibilities: * Design Engineer will prepare sketches of ideas, detailed drawings, illustrations, artwork, or blueprints, using drafting instruments, paints and brushes, or computer-aided design equipment * Modify and refine designs, using working models, to conform with customer specifications, production limitations, or changes in design trends * Coordinate the look and function of product lines * Confer with engineering, marketing, production, or sales departments, or with customers, to establish and evaluate design concepts for manufactured products * As a Design Engineer, you will read publications, attend showings, and study competing products and design styles and motifs to obtain perspective and generate design concepts * Design graphic material for use as illustration or advertising on manufactured materials and packaging or containers REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Architecture, or Engineering; Masters degree preferred * 5-7 years of experience required * Previous experience using the computer to create layouts and generate new images * Experience with Adobe imaging software (i.e., Illustrator, Photoshop), computer aided design (CAD) software and graphics software * Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models * Creativity, verbal and written communication skills and problem-solving ability * Basic ability to utilize various forms of media, including print, electronic and film The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave. Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
