RESPONSIBILITIES: Kforce has a client in Phoenix, AZ that is seeking a Quality Engineer responsible for supporting an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system through the application of continuous improvement processes, root cause analysis, statistical process control techniques, product inspections, quality system audits, and other quality programs and tools. The Quality Engineer will interact with all departments in the company, but primarily with the operations-related functions. Responsibilities: * Creation of inspection plans and documentation for incoming materials, sub-assemblies, assemblies, or internally manufactured components * Use precision measuring equipment which may include electronic instruments, to check the measurement of chemical content, purity and other qualities of parts, assemblies, or product; Examples: CMM, Optical Comparator, Analyzers, Gauss Meter, Hardness tester and particle counter; Standard hand lab instruments such as: calipers, micrometers, indicators, gage blocks, gage pins, radius gages, height gage, surface block * Creation of complete and accurate NCR documentation * Coordination of all calibration activities * Support the creation and reporting of quality metrics * Identifying gaps in metrology equipment, recommending and implementation of new quality tool and processes * Take part in MRB process and management of the non-conforming materials * Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions * Support design engineering in development of drawings and technical specifications * Work closely with all departments to improve the quality of products and services * Support and participate in the organization's Continual Improvement Program to conform to ISO 9001:2015 requirements by complying with the Quality Policy and procedures and meeting QMS objectives * Understand the implications of not conforming to QMS requirements * Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering * Lean Six Sigma certification * 5 years of professional quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment * Experience working in an ISO 9001:2015 certified environment * Quality oriented with a hands-on personality * Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Principles and ability to apply them in the manufacturing environment * Knowledge of manufacturing processes (Electrical, Assembly, and Machining), procedures and machinery * Knowledge in identifying defects, root cause analysis and corrective action * Knowledge in metrology and inspection techniques * Knowledge and experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines - ability to program, operate and train others * Knowledge in the field of quality data and SPC (Statistical Process Control) * Ability to effectively use production software (ERP/MRP, SPC) * Ability to perform engineering or mathematical calculations to support QC efforts * Ability to communicate clearly with all related functions and management * Strong computer skills (create forms, document issues) * Ability to work independently while adhering to department operating rules and guidelines * Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and activities * Intermediate skills with typing, MS Excel & MS Outlook * Strong CAD and GD&T skills, preferably in Solidworks * Desire and ability to work in a team-oriented environment * Ability to successfully complete projects within agreed upon deadlines * Ability to travel to customer and supplier sites * Attention to detail The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave. Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
