Kforce is Hiring an AWS Redshift Engineer Near Charlotte, NC
ResponsibilitiesKforce has a client in Charlotte, NC that is seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS Redshift Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in our database migration project from Teradata to AWS Redshift. This position requires a deep understanding of AWS Redshift, database management, data warehousing, and migration strategies. The AWS Redshift Engineer will work closely with our IT, Data Engineering, and Business Intelligence teams to ensure a smooth and efficient migration process. Migration Planning and Execution:

- Develop and implement comprehensive migration strategies from Teradata to AWS Redshift
- Design and execute data migration workflows, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime
- Identify potential risks and create mitigation strategies to ensure a smooth migration process
- Configure, monitor, and maintain AWS Redshift clusters to ensure high availability and performance
- Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and efficient data modeling
- Implement best practices for data storage, retrieval, and security within AWS Redshift
- Work closely with data engineers, architects, and business analysts to understand data requirements and provide Redshift expertise
- Provide training and support to internal teams on AWS Redshift best practices and usage
- Collaborate with AWS support and other third-party vendors as needed to resolve issues
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of the migration process, configurations, and best practices
- Create reports and dashboards to monitor the health and performance of the AWS Redshift environment
- Provide regular updates to the project management team and stakeholders on the status of the migration project
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in database management, with at least 3 years specializing in AWS Redshift
- Proven experience in migrating large-scale databases from Teradata to AWS Redshift is highly desirable
- Deep understanding of AWS Redshift architecture, features, and best practices
- Proficiency in SQL, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts
- Experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, and Data Pipeline
- Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization techniques
- Familiarity with data security and compliance standards
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality results
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Big Data - specialty certification
- Experience with other AWS data and analytics services
- Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for automation
