Kforce is Hiring a Controller Near Falls, VA
- Controller will ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP and government contracting standards
- Utilize Deltek Costpoint for all financial and project accounting functions
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data within Deltek Costpoint
- Train and support staff on the use of Deltek Costpoint for project accounting and reporting
- Maintain compliance with DCAA, FAR, CAS, and other government regulations
- Coordinate and manage audits with external auditors, including DCAA audits
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies and government regulations
- Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial forecasting
- Monitor actual performance against budget and provide variance analysis
- Support project managers with financial insights and reporting for project performance and cost control
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and professional development
- As a Controller, you will oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
- Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment
- Manage all aspects of tax planning and compliance
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns
- Stay updated on tax legislation and ensure the company's tax practices are compliant.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a controller or senior accounting role within a government contracting environment
- Expertise in Deltek Costpoint is required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, FAR, CAS, and other relevant regulations
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software
- Proven leadership abilities and experience managing a team
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
