Human Resource Manager

What will you do as a Human Resource Manager?

As a Human Resources Manager, you'll provide Human Resources support to all levels in the organization including benefits administration, payroll, time-off management, and employee relations. This position will work closely with managers on employee issues and engagement, as well as interpreting company policy and practices.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality on all levels of employee interaction
  • Provide employee relations support to staff and managers while maintaining appropriate documentation
  • Administration of employee benefits including processing of paperwork, working with brokers and benefit providers, maintaining accuracy of billing, and assisting in resolving employee benefit questions/conflicts/problems
  • Organize and conduct open enrollment benefit meetings
  • Organize and participate in monthly Lunch & Learn
  • Conduct new employee orientation
  • Coordinate employee training and development
  • Provide assistance with misc. projects, such as performance management, compliance reporting and record keeping
  • Reconcile timecards for payroll, troubleshoot and research payroll related questions/issues and provide solutions for employee questions
  • Responsible for recruitment efforts for all entry-level and non-supervisory positions including posting open positions, reviewing resumes, conducting initial phone screening, interviewing, and running background checks.
  • Maintain and organize employment records including updating employment files and databases, preparing paperwork for processing new hires and terminations, verifying employment, processing change of status forms and creating HR database reports
  • Administer and track FMLA leave
  • Assist the Office Manager in employee event planning
  • Other duties as assigned

We have an HR department of one, so the ability to multitask and interact with all levels of employees while being perceived as approachable and a knowledgeable resource is key.

Desired Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as Summary Plan Descriptions, professional journals, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, manuals, and routine correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before individual employees and in front of large groups of employees
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees and/or clients.
  • Ability to perform simple arithmetic
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4-6 years of related work experience in an office/corporate environment
  • Prior experience with ADP's Workforce Now a plus
  • Proven background in full cycle recruiting
