ResponsibilitiesKforce's client, a growing and established Engineering Technology company is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Manufacturing Engineer in Phoenix, AZ. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager on this exclusive search assignment. The company offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, aggressive annual bonus plan, 401K Matching and generous PTO plan. You will be responsible for developing and executing current product cost and quality improvement projects, driving manufacturing process improvement, solving production problems, designing, and developing fixtures and tooling, and conducting prototype production runs and maintaining process documentation. - Identify, develop, and execute current product design and process changes to improve cost, quality and/or manufacturability of our products
- Conduct production verification testing and aid in the release of new products; Ensure products meet design requirements; Document and compile test results into PVT test reports
- Look at existing products and come up with better ways to manufacture and take cost out of how we build it
- Manufacturing engineering with continuous improvement work; Look at manufacturing processes and recommend improvements
- Create and maintain production work instructions
- Will have sustaining manufacturing engineering responsibilities
- Design, assembly fixtures and machining fixtures and tooling from scratch
- Oversee pre-production pilot builds and various sample and protype builds; Work with operators to seek out production difficulties, inefficiencies, and areas of improvement
- Participate in root cause analysis investigations
- Contribute to design for manufacturability DFM discussions in support of new product development
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities; Implement changes
- Identify automation opportunities; Explore, quote, implement changes to our current manufacturing and machining operations
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering or similar field or equivalent work experience
- 1-4 years of professional manufacturing engineering experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing engineering and lean/continuous improvement principles
- Knowledge of set up and maintenance specifications for manufacturing machinery
- Machine shop techniques and practices
- Strong mechanical and mechanical design aptitude
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency, attention to detail and deadline orientation
- Innovative, self-starter who can work independently as well as in a team-based environment
- Integrity, honesty, and positive attitude
- Ability to design, assembly fixtures and machining fixtures, design and develop fixturing and tooling from scratch is a must
- Flexible and able to adapt to a dynamic work environment
- Experience working in an ISO 9001:2015 environment a plus
- Experience with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD Software is a plus
- Electrical systems and design principal knowledge is a plus
