Designs and delivers instructional systems and does so in a therapeutically appropriate manner. Teaches curriculum as mandated by Maine State standards. Manages the classroom in such a way as to maintain an educational atmosphere. Responsible for writing Individual Education Plans (IEP), report cards, and all necessary paperwork. Supervises Education Technicians. Perform the duties required to address the educational and behavioral needs of students participating in the special education program, implement individualized interventions as part of a student's behavior plan, design and implement classroom behavioral management strategies to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly classroom, and ensure students are on task, provides support and individualized instruction at the student's developmental level for functional skills, utilizes direct teaching techniques as outlined within the student's IEP and/or Behavior Plan and management of behavioral challenges exhibited by students in the special education setting.
