The PRTF Milieu Coordinator is an in-ratio position, responsible for organizing and implementing therapeutic groups/activities and providing direct support and client care within the therapeutic community. Milieu Coordinators are also responsible for the implementation of daily unit schedules, delegating documentation within the milieu, and assigning staff to kids/groups.

• Responsible for organizational structure for each assigned shift.
• Creating/implementing groups and activities on assigned unit that supports KidsTLC overall philosophy and program.
• Creation of weekly unit schedules during the 7am-5pm and 12-10pm shifts, including weekend scheudles.
• In ratio position 12:00pm to 8:00pm
• 12:00pm – 12:30pm: Prep for transition meeting
• 12:30pm – 1:30pm: Transition meeting
• 1:30pm – 2:30pm: create/coordinate materials for groups & activities, plan weekly unit schedules.
• 2:30pm – 8:00pm: in ratio
• Completing group notes, and delegating progress notes, EOS, IRs/ESIs to members of the unit daily.
• Assigning staff members to roles within a therapeutic group.
• Lead and model DDP practices and principles in client interactions and when supporting staff development of DDP based skills.
• To have a thorough knowledge of the KidsTLC Constitution and consistently use it as the guiding document for leading staff and caring for clients each day.
• To have a thorough understanding of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy as the treatment model for KidsTLC expressed through P.A.C.E. and to model this behavior to staff and children daily.

• Preferred Bachelors in the social work, psychology, or a related mental health field along with licensure eligibility by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board to practice independently.
• Experience leading and running small and large therapy or psychosocial groups.
• Knowledge of all state and federal regulations related to providing services to a population with special needs.
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Extensive critical thinking skills.
• Sound judgement and decision-making skills.
• Able to establish a rapport with people, establishing a climate of trust, confidence, and mutual respect, communicating directly and effectively with a range of constituents with complex and diverse needs.

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

COGNITIVE DEMANDS

Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of industry specific software, industry specific systems and other web-based software programs, Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
