High Level Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Engineering organization to support Kimball Electronics Engineer industrial business needs.
High Level Statement of the Role
Engineer Technician will be responsible for test equipment meeting all necessary safety, quality, efficiency, calibration, and preventive maintenance goals.
High Level Roles & Responsibilities
  • Engineering Technician will help drive improvements to existing work methods
  • Obtain and maintain a working knowledge of all equipment platforms
  • Work hours may vary by assigned project which requires flexibility and self-motivation by the individual
  • Adhere to Kimball Quality Management system documentation and follow customer/company specifications
  • Provide manufacturing support assistance which includes, but is not limited to: fixture repair, calibration activities, ATE maintenance, equipment and PCB troubleshooting
  • Programming knowledge of automated equipment such as In-Circuit Test (ICT), Flying Probe (FP) is preferred
  • Solve problems in a methodical method whether working independently or in a group
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with Kimball employees and customers as required
  • Mentor Testers and Test Technicians in troubleshooting / equipment setup Best Practices
  • Build test systems and fixtures utilizing electrical schematics/CAD documentation
  • Perform preventative maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of test systems/fixtures
  • Interface with Operators in developing work methods
  • Assist test engineers with Developing and Maintaining process documents
  • Work with on-site trainer on testers and test technician certifications
  • Maintain spare parts inventory, work orders for production equipment for cost of ownership reviews
  • Monitor production scheduling and equipment status to minimize negative impacts from maintenance operations
  • Additional duties as assigned

  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent test engineering experience preferred
  • FP, ICT, and FT equipment maintenance experience preferred
  • Must be familiar with the operation of basic electronic instrumentation such as Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, DVMs, and signal generators. Additional knowledge of medical and RF measurement equipment is beneficial
  • Ability to evaluate and propose new equipment
  • Ability to repair and train others to repair equipment
  • Ability to develop and maintain process documents
  • Ability to use fabrication equipment
  • Experience with equipment and PCB troubleshooting
