Reporting to Director of Customer Analytics, this role is a leader to support the strategy definition and decision making for the Customer Development organization in KC’s North American consumer business. The Associate Director of Customer Analytics will partner with leaders in some of the largest Customer teams to evaluate performance drivers, define acceleration strategies, and support the execution of customer specific plans. Additionally, the Associate Director will manage a team of 1 or 2 analysts and contribute to building analytics acumen across Customer Development teams. This role will be hybrid out of the Chicago, IL office.

In this role, you will:

  • Provides strategic leadership in the development and execution of customer analytics to define and refine Customer Strategies

  • Collaborates closely with Customer teams and their cross-functional partners to perform analysis, build analytical capabilities, and enable effective decision-making, including:

    • Long-term trend analysis

    • Support of leadership engagements

    • Analysis of business performance

    • Competitive Intelligence analyses

    • JBP preparation

    • Ad-hoc P&L, ROIs, & DPSM analytics

  • Guide end-to-end analysis for assigned Customers and make adjustments to existing strategies based upon new learning and changes in the competitive environment:

    • Own thought leadership for business problem definition, project scoping, analytical approach and work-planning

    • Direct and directly execute data analysis for delivery of strategic projects including financial modeling and insight analysis on large, complex data sets.

    • Interpret results from multiple project components and translate these finding into clear and compelling recommendations and solutions.

    • Add personal insight, galvanize discussion and debate across the organization on key strategic issues, generating ideas and creative frameworks, and use a combination of facts, judgment, and personal impact to build credibility and influence outcomes.

  • Written and Verbal Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, including strong PowerPoint / deck-writing skills; capable of catering a message appropriately for a given audience.

  • Structured Problem Solving: Brings structure to ambiguous problems and possesses the ability to frame key questions and develop a workplan to answer them.

  • Analytical and Quantitative: Strong analytical and quantitative skills and the ability to independently generate strategic insights.

  • Executive Presence: Viewed as promotable to a line operating role or another key position in corporate functions (e.g., Finance, Strategy).

  • Business Judgment: Possesses insight and understanding in dealing with risks and opportunities in business that is likely to lead to favorable outcomes.

  • Initiative and Motivation: Highly motivated self-starter who is performance driven.

  • Project Management: Ability to scope projects, manage, teams, deliver results against set expectations, timelines, and budgets, etc.

  • Consumer (CPG and Retail) Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of key players, dynamics and trends, key industry analyses and metrics, etc.

  • Engaging and Collaborative: Enjoys working in a team environment.

  • Influence and Stakeholder Management: Ability to manage and influence senior-level stakeholders.

  • Change Management: Capable of understanding organizational dynamics, individual incentives, and barriers to change to implement new ways of working in line with business priorities.

  • Knowledge and Enthusiasm for K-C: Knowledge of the K-C organization, brands, metrics, etc.; enthusiastic about the potential strategic options facing Kimberly-Clark.

  • Agile and Versatile: Demonstrated track record of success working in a fast-paced setting.

  • Scope of Experience: Experience working in the context of a large, complex, global organization where working across functions and teams, and leading through influence are keys to success.

  • 25-50% travel will be required.

In one of our professional roles, you’ll focus on winning with consumers and the market, while putting safety, mutual respect, and human dignity at the center. To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • MBA from top-tier business school highly preferred

  • 7 years of business experience in strategy consulting, related business analysis, functional line experience within strategy, marketing, finance, operations, or sales analytics with a history of demonstrated business success.

  • 2 years of experience building and leading high-performance teams

  • 3 years of consulting experience with one of the blue-chip strategy consulting firms (Bain, BCG, McKinsey, etc.) or comparable strategy consulting firm / function.

  • Additional industry experience in a consumer-oriented (CPG, retail) company in strategy development, finance, marketing, or other role with strategic content highly preferred.
