Overview

Kimley-Horn's Phoenix, AZ office is seeking a Utility Coordinator with 12 years of experience to join their Utility Coordination team! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage utility activities for projects, including but not limited to water, wastewater, electricity, gas, telecommunications, and other utilities.
  • Review project plans and specifications to identify utility requirements and potential conflicts.
  • Collaborate with utility companies, government agencies, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and utility clearances.
  • Act as a point of contact for utility companies and ensure timely communication and resolution of any utility-related issues or conflicts.
  • Coordinate utility relocation efforts with project teams and utility companies to minimize project delays and ensure compliance with project schedules.
  • Conduct field visits and inspections to verify utility locations, identify potential conflicts, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of utility information, including utility plans, clearances, permits, and any changes or updates.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation related to utility coordination activities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to utility coordination and incorporate them into project planning and execution.
  • Assist project managers in budgeting and cost estimation for utility-related activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies and solutions for complex utility coordination challenges.
  • Participate in meetings, conferences, and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills related to utility coordination.
  • Qualifications

    • High School Diploma 
    • 12 years of experience in utility coordination or a related role.
    • Strong knowledge of utility design, construction, and coordination processes.
    • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to utility coordination.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, utility companies, and government agencies.
    • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
    • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to identify and resolve issues proactively.
    • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
